State Outlooks for February 2014
New South Wales
The general expectation is that worm activity will increase following the recent rain. Monitor regularly.
Victoria
At this time of year and with the season, pro-active, regular monitoring is the key to effective worm control in the relatively near future.
Queensland
Right now, not much change from last month. The recent rain will mean things will change. Monitor a couple of mobs within 6 weeks of the rain.
South Australia
Conditions are good for Barbers Pole. Monitor religiously. Future worm larvae survival will depend on how the season unrolls.
Western Australia
Relatively low WECs may change. Remember drench resistance is widespread and severe. Decisions and sound management now will determine what happens next.
Tasmania
Despite the heat - be certain to give a second summer drench, monitor relentlessly (particularly young stock) and prepare for big worm activity in autumn.
