Whilst it continues dry, worms should remain fairly quiet. However you can still get caught out. I was moving a mob of mixed sex weaners to a fresh paddock today and even though they did not look wormy and in fact the man who works with me said that, ‘These will not need drenching, they look too good’ I decided to do a Worm Egg Count (WEC). The weaners came back at 1150 epg and as a result were drenched. Why guess when a simple Worm Egg Count test can save a lot of grief or, on the other hand, a lot of unnecessary drenching.
